The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed a brand-new trophy for the prestigious CAF Champions League.
The unveiling ceremony took place on Thursday, May 21, at the TotalEnergies headquarters in Johannesburg.
This launch follows the recent renewal of the sponsorship deal between CAF and TotalEnergies, extending their partnership for another four years in supporting CAF’s Interclub competitions.
The event was attended by iconic African football legends as well as representatives from the two finalists, Mamelodi Sundowns and Pyramids FC.
With the first leg of the final scheduled for May 24 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, kicking off at 13:00 GMT, and the return leg set for June 1 at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium, excitement is building for the clash between these two powerhouse clubs.
The introduction of this new trophy marks a bold step forward for African club football, as CAF continues to raise the international stature of its Interclub tournaments.
