CAF sets dates for Olympique Safi vs USM Alger Confederation Cup semifinal showdown
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the fixtures for the CAF Confederation Cup semifinal clash between Olympique Safi and USM Alger.
According to the schedule, the first leg will be played in Algeria on Saturday, April 11, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. (GMT+1). The decisive second leg will take place a week later in Morocco at Stade El Massira in Safi on Sunday, April 19, starting at 8 p.m.
Olympique Safi booked their place in the semifinals after a dramatic quarterfinal victory over Wydad Casablanca. After a 1-1 draw at home, they held their opponents to a 2-2 draw away, progressing on the away goals rule.
On the other side, USM Alger advanced by overcoming AS Maniema Union. Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat away from home, the Algerian side bounced back strongly with a 2-1 win in Algiers to secure qualification.
The upcoming semifinal adds another chapter to a growing rivalry between the two teams, who already met twice during the group stage of the competition. USM Alger claimed a narrow 1-0 victory in Safi in November 2025, while the return fixture in Algiers in February 2026 ended in a goalless draw.
With a place in the final at stake, both sides will be determined to seize the moment and take a decisive step toward continental glory in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.
