The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the selection of seven Moroccan referees to officiate in the upcoming African Cup of Nations, hosted by Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11.
In a statement released by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, CAF has unveiled the list of referees and assistant referees who will officiate in the forthcoming edition of the African Cup of Nations 2023, featuring a prominent representation of seven Moroccan officials.
The same source mentioned that the list includes Bouchra Karboubi as the central referee, alongside Jalal Jaid and Samir Kzaz.
Notably, Karboubi stands out as the sole female chief referee included in this list.
The roster also encompasses Mustafa Akradad and Lhassan Akzaou as assistant referees.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) responsibilities have been entrusted to Ridaan Jaid and Zakaria Princy.
The selection of these Moroccan referees underscores the recognition of their competence and experience on the continent, adding diversity to the officiating team for the prestigious tournament.
