CAF president Patrice Motsepe visits Tanzania leader over 2027 Africa Cup of Nations

Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Dr Patrice Motsepe has met Tanzania Head of State Samia Suluhu Hassan in Dar es Salaam to discuss preparations for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027.

Dr Motsepe also conveyed his condolences, and those of CAF’s 54 Member Associations, to President Suluhu following the death of her husband.

During Thursday’s courtesy visit, he briefed the Tanzanian president on the progress being made towards hosting the tournament.

President Suluhu thanked Dr Motsepe for visiting and for his message of sympathy. She also reaffirmed the Tanzanian government’s commitment to delivering a successful TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027.

Earlier on Thursday, Dr Motsepe held talks with Tanzania Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba.

The CAF president was accompanied by CAF vice-presidents Kurt Okraku and Faizel Sidat, acting general secretary Samson Adamu, Tanzania Football Federation president Wallace Karia and Tanzania Local Organizing Committee chairman Leodgar Tenga.

Senior members of the Government of Tanzania also attended the meetings.
