Dr. Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), held discussions with Kenya President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi on Friday, December 20, 2024.
This meeting is part of Dr. Motsepe’s official visit to the three nations hosting the CAF African Nations Championship 2024 (CHAN).
Having visited Tanzania the previous day, Dr. Motsepe is set to proceed to Uganda later on Friday to continue his tour. During their meeting, the CAF President and President Ruto focused on the preparations for the upcoming CHAN tournament.
Dr. Motsepe expressed his appreciation for Ruto’s ongoing support for the development of football in Kenya.
Joining Dr. Motsepe at the meeting were CAF 4th Vice-President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, the Chairperson of the CHAN Organizing Committee, and CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.
They also engaged with newly elected Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed and members of the CHAN 2024 Local Organizing Committee, including Chairperson Nicholas Musonye.
Additionally, Dr. Motsepe toured the Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadiums, along with several training facilities, to assess their readiness for the tournament.
