CAF names referees for Champions League and Confederation Cup semi-final second legs
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the match officials appointed for this weekend’s decisive second-leg fixtures in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.
The selected referees will take charge of four high-profile encounters across the continent, with places in the finals at stake and pressure mounting on all participating teams.
In the CAF Champions League, the clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance Sportive de Tunis will be officiated by Omar Artan.
The encounter is expected to be tightly contested as both sides battle for a place in the final.
Another Champions League semi-final will see Zamalek SC host CR Belouizdad, with Mahmoud Ismail appointed as referee for the fixture in Cairo.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, RS Berkane’s meeting with AS FAR will be handled by Pierre Atcho, while Samuel Uwikunda will oversee the other semi-final between USM Alger and OC Safi.
With the stakes at their highest, CAF has entrusted experienced officials to manage what are expected to be intense and emotionally charged encounters.
The second-leg ties come at a crucial stage of the season, where margins are thin, and every decision could prove decisive in shaping the road to the finals.
