CAF launches new recruitment drive for strategic Project Manager role in African football development

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is inviting applications for the role of Project Manager within its prestigious CAF IMPACT Program, a position aimed at driving football development across its 54 member associations.

The role, based at CAF’s Cairo headquarters, is open until 10 July 2025.

Designed for experienced professionals with a passion for football and development, this position offers an opportunity to support CAF’s mission of strengthening organizational capacities across Africa in line with global standards.

Strategic leadership in capacity building

As Project Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the design and implementation of tailored capacity-building programmes for both national associations and zonal unions.

Responsibilities will include coordinating development initiatives, organising training sessions and technical missions, and acting as a vital liaison between CAF departments and its stakeholders.

The role is central to ensuring the seamless execution of projects while also tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.

Responsibilities at a glance

  • Coordinate development programmes for member associations and regional unions.
  • Lead and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and expert missions.
  • Evaluate impact and suggest adjustments to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CAF departments, including Football Schools and CSR, to embed capacity-building within broader CAF initiatives.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with universities, NGOs, and specialists.
  • Manage financial planning and document best practices to enhance institutional learning.

Candidate profile

Applicants must hold a master’s degree in a relevant field such as project management, sports administration, or organisational development, alongside a minimum of five years’ professional experience managing capacity-building projects.

Familiarity with training design in Africa and strong stakeholder management skills are key.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities are essential, as is fluency in English.

Proficiency in French, Arabic, or Portuguese is considered an asset. Candidates must also be available for frequent travel across the continent.
