The race for African club football supremacy is heating up as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) prepares for the highly anticipated quarter-finals draw of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
Set to take place on Thursday, 20 February 2025, in Doha, Qatar, the draw will determine the path forward for the continent’s top clubs.
The CAF Confederation Cup draw will begin at 14h00 GMT (16h00 Cairo Time), followed by the CAF Champions League draw at 15h00 GMT (17h00 Cairo Time).
The quarter-finals will be played over two legs, with Champions League matches scheduled for 1-2 April and 8-9 April 2025, while Confederation Cup ties will take place on 2 April and 9 April 2025.
Defending CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly SC of Egypt are among the top contenders, joined by Al Hilal (Sudan), AS FAR (Morocco), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Orlando Pirates (South Africa), Pyramids (Egypt), and MC Alger (Algeria).
In the Confederation Cup, reigning champions Zamalek SC are looking to defend their title against Asec Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), Al Masry (Egypt), CS Constantine (Algeria), RS Berkane (Morocco), Simba SC (Tanzania), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa), and USM Alger (Algeria).
With Africa’s biggest clubs set for battle, anticipation is at an all-time high as fans eagerly await the matchups that will define the road to continental glory.
