The Confederation of African Football has launched an official inspection tour of the facilities that will host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
A technical team from CAF arrived this week in the three “Pamoja” nations to assess stadiums and related infrastructure in preparation for the tournament, officially titled “TotalEnergies AFCON 2027.”
CAF confirmed in a statement that its experts will evaluate the readiness of key venues, training sites and organizational structures across the joint hosts.
The visit places East Africa firmly in the spotlight, ahead of an additional high-profile trip by CAF’s Executive Committee and president Patrice Motsepe, who are scheduled to be in Tanzania on Friday 13 February 2026 to further review progress and hold meetings with local officials.
The ongoing inspection mission began earlier this week and will continue until Tuesday 17 February. CAF is keen to enforce strict, world-class delivery standards for all host countries, ensuring that stadiums, transport, accommodation and media facilities meet modern requirements before the expanded continental showpiece arrives in 2027.
