On Friday, June 21, 2024, the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football will convene to address various matters, including the scheduling of upcoming continental championships.

President Patrice Motsepe will preside over the virtual meeting, which is set to commence at 1400 GMT.

The leaders of African football will convene to deliberate on crucial issues.

Speculations emerged last month about the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025 being moved up, causing uncertainty.

However, CAF swiftly responded, refuting these reports, although the exact date of the tournament is still to be confirmed.

In the meantime, the draw for the qualifiers will take place next month, marking the start of the journey for teams across Africa to secure a spot in the 2025 championship in Morocco.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the last two tournaments have been rescheduled.

The 2021 edition was delayed, while the most recent AFCON took place in 2024 instead of 2023.
