CAF Cup Group Stages Shape Up After Fourth Matchday

In Group B, Egyptian giants Al Ahly secured their place in the semi-finals with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ivory Coast’s Sewe Sport. The decisive goal was scored by Walid Soliman early in the match, ensuring Al Ahly’s dominance in the group.
Meanwhile, in a thrilling encounter in Zambia, FC Nkana edged out Tunisia’s Etoile Sportive du Sahel in a high-scoring 4-3 victory. This result dealt a significant blow to Etoile du Sahel’s hopes of progressing, simultaneously bolstering Al Ahly’s position at the top of the group.

In Group A, Cameroonian side Coton Sport de Garoua continued their unbeaten run by defeating Asec Mimosa of Ivory Coast 2-1. This victory, their fourth in as many matches, has secured Coton Sport’s place in the semi-finals, confirming their status as group leaders with 10 points.
The battle for second place in Group A is still open, with AC Léopards holding 5 points and Asec Mimosa and AS Real trailing on 2 and 1 point respectively. AC Léopards will face AS Real in the final group fixture on July 27, with much at stake for both sides.
