CAF Confederation Cup Playoffs Begin with Key Matches This Weekend

The first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs kicked off on Saturday with a goalless draw between Zambia’s Nkana and Tunisia’s CA Bizertin. The match ended 0-0, setting up an intriguing second leg in the competition’s knockout stage.

Several other crucial matches are set to take place on Sunday, with one of the highlights being the visit of African champions Al Ahly to Morocco to face Difaâ El Jadida. The Egyptian giants, looking to defend their continental title, will face a stern test against the Moroccan side.

Other exciting fixtures include:

  • Séwé Sport of Ivory Coast hosting Bayelsa United of Nigeria, with both teams eager to make their mark in the competition.

  • Coton Sport of Cameroon will welcome Petro de Luanda from Angola to Garoua in what promises to be a highly competitive encounter.

  • In addition, AS Real from Mali will face Djoliba in an all-Malian clash, while AC Leopards of Congo take on Ghana’s Medeama.

  • South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs will go up against ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast, and Horoya of Guinea will host Étoile du Sahel of Tunisia.

The first leg matchups are shaping up to be a thrilling start to the knockout phase of the CAF Confederation Cup, with some of Africa’s top clubs battling it out for continental glory.
