CS Sfaxien has advanced to the final of the Confederation Cup after securing qualification in a Tunisian derby against Club Athlétique Bizertin. Following a goalless draw in the first leg, CS Sfaxien emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win in the semi-final return match held on Sunday.
The decisive goal was scored by Idrissa Kouyaté, the Ivorian striker, who capitalized on a rebound from Haj Mabrouk and found the net in the 44th minute of the game. Despite Club Athlétique Bizertin dominating the second half, they were unable to level the score.
With this victory, Ruud Krol’s team has secured their place in the final and is set to face TP Mazembe. TP Mazembe earned their spot in the final by eliminating Stade Malien in the CAF Confederation Cup with a similar scoreline (1-0) on Saturday.
