Entente Sétif of Algeria faced a tough challenge in Gabon during the second leg of the CAF Cup qualifying round despite holding a two-goal advantage from the first leg. The reigning Algerian champions, who won 2-0 in the initial match, had to endure a 2-0 defeat in Libreville.
The physically weakened team managed by Hubert Velud went on to qualify for the group stage of the competition, but the victory came after a penalty shootout. Entente Sétif secured a 5-3 win in the penalty shootout, ensuring their progression in the CAF Cup.
