However, unlike its counterpart, the CAF Cup witnessed very close results, with only How Mine from Zimbabwe securing a significant victory, defeating Chuoni from Zanzibar by 4 goals.
Several teams, including AS Douanes de Lomé, Union Sportive de Douala, How Mine, Don Bosco, and FC Mounana, came close to qualifying. However, CS Constantine stumbled on the ground of the Nigeriens ASN Nigelec. The return matches for this round are scheduled to take place in a week.
