Supporters of the Black Devils of Brazzaville invaded the pitch after their club’s elimination in the round of 16 of the CAF Cup, as reported by GlobalNet. In response, the police reportedly used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The incident followed a match in which the Congolese team, facing a two-goal deficit to qualify for the next round against the Tunisians of the Sfaxien Sports Club, opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a goal from Mahomo. However, CSS (Club Sportif Sfaxien) equalized three minutes later through Mohamed Ali Moncer, and the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
CS Sfaxien secured advancement to the next round thanks to their 3-1 victory in the first leg. The supporters’ frustration led to the pitch invasion, prompting police intervention to maintain order.
