The countdown to the 2024 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) took a huge step forward as CAF wrapped up a successful eight-day inspection of the host cities across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The final phase of checks and workshops began in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 3, where CAF officials assessed the Kasarani Stadium, venue for the final, and the Nyayo International Stadium.
The delegation later traveled to Zanzibar’s Amaan Stadium and Dar es Salaam’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which will stage the tournament’s grand opening.
The inspection tour ended on July 9 in Kampala, Uganda, at the Mandela International Stadium, sealing the preparations ahead of the August 2 kickoff.
CAF’s team, made up of key experts from departments including Competitions, Marketing, Broadcast, and Infrastructure, worked closely with Local Organising Committees to ensure readiness across the three host nations.
With less than a month to go, CAF praised the collective effort and support from the governments and local partners, describing the tour as a major milestone in the journey to what is expected to be a thrilling showcase of African football.
