Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek have lodged an official complaint with CAF following their 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium over the weekend.

The White Knights appeared set to claim all three points, only for Dillan Solomons to score a last-minute equaliser for the South African side on Saturday.

Zamalek, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the match officiating and have formally raised their concerns with CAF.

In their statement, the club argued that Seifeddine Jaziri’s first-half goal, which was ruled out, should have stood. They also contend that Angolan forward Chico Banza was denied a penalty in the second half.

In addition, Zamalek called on CAF to implement the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system for the remaining group-stage fixtures.
