CAF Confederation Cup: Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal poised to grind out result in high-stake clash against AS Otoho
Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal is determined to grind out result against Congolese outfit AS Otoho in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Egyptian giants travel to face AS Otoho in the highly competitive first leg clash, scheduled to take place at the Alphonse Massamba Stadium on Saturday.
Despite acknowledging the difficulty in facing AS Otoho, Moataz Gamal has set sights on securing a positive results in the first leg clash.
“The Otoho match will be very difficult, especially since it is a knockout match in the tournament,” he said at the pre-match conference. “We came to Congo to achieve the best possible result before the return leg in Cairo.”
“Otoho is performing well and has achieved outstanding results during the group stage, which confirms its strength, but Zamalek came with a winning mentality and sought to achieve a positive result away from home.”
“The team is used to playing under pressure and in various conditions, and we qualified at the top of the group.”
Meanwhile, Zamalek delegation arrived in Congo on Friday morning as the team gears up for the much-anticipated clash.
Iman Yaqout, the Egyptian ambassador to Congo-Brazzaville, and Ibtisam Najib, the Egyptian consul, welcomed the Zamalek delegation upon their arrival at the airport.
