Head coach of Zesco United Mathews Ndhlovu has reflected on his outfit defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in the fourth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, stressing his outfit were careless at certain point in the match.
The South African side recorded a 1-0 victory in both first and second legs of the group stage clash, strengthening their chances of qualifying to the knockout stage.
Speaking in an interview, Ndhlovu said, “Yes, Chiefs are beatable, especially when you utilize your chances,”
“But if you don’t score, Kaizer Chiefs will over-run you. We were slightly careless at the back when we started the game in Ndola, they utilized their chances and scored.
“The best way to defend is about how you manage the game. Those are the positives which we have learnt from Kaizer Chiefs, that if they score, they are capable of managing the game.
“For us now, we will make sure that we’re displaying that at the back as well as making sure we utilize the chances we create.”
This weekend Chiefs face Al Masry at home having amassed seven points so far and are third on the table of Group D standings.
