Tanzanian outfit, Azam FC made their home advantage count after cruising to a narrow victory over Nairobi United in the fourth round of the CAF confederation Cup clash on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Both teams delivered an outstanding performance, but it was Azam FC, who emerged victorious in the high-stake Group B clash held at the Amaan Stadium.
Azam FC broke the deadlock after just twelve minutes through Tanzania star Feisal Salum, as the host went to the halftime break with the advantage.
After the break, Nairobi United pushed forward in search of an equalizer, creating a few chances, but Azam’s defense remained resolute. The visitors were denied by timely tackles and solid goalkeeping as they failed to break down the Tanzanian outfit.
The win has strengthened Azam FC’s chances of making it out of the highly competitive group. After four matches, the Tanzanian giants find themselves in the third position with six points, three points behind leaders, Wydad AC and Maniema Union.
Meanwhile, the Nairobi United continue their poor run in the continental competition, failing to win a single match after four matches. As it stands, the Kenyan outfit sit bottom of the table without a point.
Mathematically, the Kenyan outfit can be counted out of the competition, as qualification to the knockout stage has hit the snag.
