CAF Confederation Cup: Salim Seba confident Belouizdad can overturn deficit against Zamalek in Cairo
CR Belouizdad interim coach Salim Seba is backing his side to stage a comeback when they face Zamalek SC in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final in Cairo.
The Algerian outfit travel to the Cairo International Stadium on Friday, April 17, aiming to overturn a narrow first-leg deficit.
Belouizdad suffered a 1-0 defeat in Algiers last week, with Brazilian winger Juan Alvina scoring the decisive goal for the Egyptian giants in the opening half.
Despite the setback, Seba remains optimistic about his team’s chances of progressing to the final. Reflecting on the first leg, he insisted his side had created enough opportunities to secure a different result.
“I have been with CR Belouizdad for seven years, and whenever the club needs me, I will answer the call. We played a good match and created several scoring opportunities, but we wasted them,” Seba said.
“That’s football. We lost the first leg, but God willing, we will turn the tie around in Egypt and win. We will prepare well for the return match,” he added.
Kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 GMT, with a place in the final at stake.
