RS Berkane are weighing the option of lodging an official complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over what they describe as poor treatment upon their arrival in Tanzania for the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Simba SC.
The Moroccan side, who hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, are scheduled to face Simba SC at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Sunday. However, their preparations have reportedly been marred by a series of logistical setbacks.
Sources close to the team revealed that upon arrival, the RS Berkane delegation was held up at the airport for several hours due to a technical issue that required each player’s entry to be processed manually.
This delay, coupled with their long journey from Morocco, left players physically and mentally drained before they could reach their hotel.
In addition to the airport incident, RS Berkane have voiced concern over last-minute changes to the match venue and kick-off time. Originally set to take place in Dar es Salaam at 5:00 PM, the fixture was moved to Zanzibar and rescheduled to 2:00 PM.
The club has reportedly documented these events, including photographic evidence from the airport, as part of a formal complaint they are preparing to submit to CAF.
