RS Berkane goalkeeper Mounir El Mohammadi has expressed his gratitude to the club’s fans following their commanding 4-0 victory over CS Constantine in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals.
The Moroccan side stunned the Algerian team with a dominant performance at the Stade Municipal de Berkane on Sunday.
“We owe a big thank you to our fans, who were like an extra player on the field for us,” El Mohammadi said after the match.
“The Berkane supporters have been there for us at key moments throughout the season, and in this match against CS Constantine, their energy gave us a huge boost, helping us secure this impressive win.”
He continued, “We can’t underestimate the crucial role the fans have played in our successes so far.”
El Mohammadi also emphasized that while the first-leg win was a significant step toward reaching the final, they would remain focused and cautious in the second leg.
“In football, surprises can happen, so we will approach the return leg with full concentration and the same level of commitment, showing great respect for our opponents.”
The second leg is set to take place at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui on Sunday, April 27.
