Wydad Athletic Club are gearing up for a decisive continental test as they prepare to face Union Nairobi in the fifth round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, a fixture that carries major weight in the race for qualification.
The Red Castle delegation left Casablanca early on Friday morning bound for Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the vital encounter.
The journey is being made via an indirect flight, with a brief stopover in Paris before continuing to East Africa, and is expected to last more than 13 hours in total.
Upon arrival in Nairobi, head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem has put in place a carefully structured preparation programme. Wydad are scheduled to hold an initial training session shortly after landing, followed by a second session on Saturday at the same time as match kick-off.

The plan is aimed at helping players adapt to local weather conditions and match timing while ensuring optimal readiness for the contest.
The travelling squad has attracted attention due to several notable inclusions, with a number of players returning after missing last week’s trip to Congo.
Salah Eddine Moussadek, Hakim Ziyech and Bolivian midfielder Ramiro Vaca are all back in the group, providing the technical staff with added depth and tactical flexibility at a critical stage of the competition.
