CAF Confederation Cup: Al Masry is not an easy opponent – CR Belouizdad coach Nassim Oussrir after draw
CR Belouizdad Goalkeeper’s coach Nassim Oussrir has expressed his satisfaction with facing Al-Masry of Port Said in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
Following the draw in Cairo on Tuesday, the Algeria powerhouse has been pitted against the Egyptian outfit in the last eight of the competition.
Speaking after the draw, Nassim Oussrir acknowledged Al Masry, while setting sights on victory against their opponent.
“The quarter-final draw has placed us against a brotherly Arab team, Al-Masry of Port Said, and in truth we wished to face a team from an Arab country.”
“The first leg will be played during Ramadan, and if we were facing an African team, the match would be at 2 or 3 pm, which is difficult for the players.”
“Al-Masry is not an easy team, and we know that they have earned 10 points in a difficult group, but CR Belouizdad is a team that wins titles, and when they compete continentally, they aim to win the championship.”
The quarter-final first legs are scheduled for 13–15 March 2026, with the return fixtures following a week later on 20–22 March.
