Al Masry head coach Nabil Kouki expressed his frustration over the penalty awarded to Kaizer Chiefs in their recent CAF Confederation Cup clash.

The decision came after the ball struck the hand of an Al Masry player, prompting protests from the Egyptian side against referee Daniel Laryea’s call.

Despite the objections, Flavio da Silva calmly converted the spot-kick, helping Chiefs secure a 2-1 win.

“Thank you for welcoming us,” the coach told SABC Sport after the game.

“A lot of calculations inside the game. We controlled the first 25 minutes, and then we went out a little bit.

“The penalty kick came. I don’t see it as a penalty, but we will see it in the analysis studio but we came back in the game.

“We will wait for the last round to see who is going to go through.”

Al Masry sit third in Group D ahead of their last group match against ZESCO United next weekend.

The Egyptian side will also be hoping fellow countrymen Zamalek can influence the outcome in Cairo in their favour against Kaizer Chiefs.
