Al Masry manager Mohammed Abdel Karim has expressed his displeasure following stalemate against Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The all Egyptian affair match held at the Borg El Arab Stadium ended in a pulsating goalless draw as both teams struggled to find the net on Sunday.
After the game, Abdel Karim asserted his outfit deserved to snatch victory against the defending champions.
“It was a difficult match against Zamalek, and we had major absences that affected the offensive aspect, but we played a balanced first half.”
He added: “In the second half, we reached Zamalek’s goal with two chances, and we had the desire to win. But the most important thing is not to lose, and both teams were keen on that.”
“Zamalek had one dangerous chance, from a counterattack, and we had more than one chance, but we were facing a big team,” he continued.
“We are trying to deal with the pressure of the matches, and our thoughts are currently on the Enyimba match. I fear for the team from the tight matches, and it is good to postpone the Egypt Cup match”
Zamalek are on top of Group D with 8 points, followed by Al Masry with 5 points. Black Bulls Maputo and Enyimba sit third and fourth spot with four points each.
