The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cleared AFCON final referee Jean Jacques Ndala after completing a thorough disciplinary review into his performance.

In a statement issued after a full verification process, CAF confirmed that its disciplinary jury found no wrongdoing on the part of the Congolese official.

The panel ruled that Ndala acted in accordance with the Laws of the Game and met the standards expected at the highest level of continental football.

The ruling brings an end to speculation surrounding the officiating of the tournament’s showpiece final and reaffirms CAF’s confidence in the integrity and professionalism of its match officials.

Ndala’s display was described as rigorous and professional, earning commendation from senior figures within African football administration.

CAF said the decision not only restores the referee’s standing but also underscores the confederation’s commitment to fairness, transparency and due process in dealing with officiating-related matters across its competitions.

Meanwhile, CAF has imposed sanctions on both Morocco and Senegal following scenes of disorder during the final. Senegal coach Pape Thiaw was handed a five-match ban for unsporting behaviour.
