CAF Champions League: We will fight to overturn the result - Lioli FC coach Bongani Maseko ahead of return leg tie against Orlando Pirates

Lioli FC coach Bongani Maseko has sent a stern warning to Orlando Pirates ahead of the return leg in the CAF Champions League.

The South African side secured a 3-0 win against the Lesotho champions in the first leg at the Free State Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead of the return leg scheduled for the Orlando Stadium this weekend, Maseko admitted his side committed mistakes which led to their defeat.

“Not that they were too good, I think we made some defensive errors,” Maseko told SABC Sport.

“Some of our players didn’t shift well, if you play a team of high quality like Pirates, they do a lot of rotations so they made it difficult for my team so to move them out of position that was the only difference second half and they managed to score the first.

“Second one, and after the second one, we wanted to attack, and then they caught us on the counter. So, I’m happy with the performance.

Maseko warned that the tie is not over despite conceding three away goals to the Soweto giants.

“I think the first half is 3-0, it’s the second half now,” he added.

“we will try to look at the video and do our analysis and see what things we can improve on for the second-leg. We’re still going to fight, the game is not over, still 90 minutes to go,” he said.
