Al Ahly coach Jess Thorup has declared his outfit readiness ahead of their penultimate CAF Champions League group stage clash against JS Kabylie.
The Egyptian giants travels to face the Algeria outfit in a highly competitive Group B clash on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with victory crucial to securing a spot in the knockout stage of the competition.
“I thank the Algerian side for the generous hospitality,” Thorup said at the pre-match conference held on Friday.
“Al-Ahly returned from Tanzania with an important point, and the team is preparing to play an important away match against a strong competitor despite having only two points in the group,”
“I know the atmosphere expected to be difficult in tomorrow’s match, and every team seeks to achieve the best possible result on the field, and Al-Ahly deals with every match as a new challenge.”
“Al-Ahly’s lead in the group will not deter the players from exerting their utmost effort to achieve victory and maintain their lead. The team arrived in Algeria yesterday and will conduct its training today at the match stadium, and everyone is fully prepared for the match.”
“The group is strong, with four teams competing fiercely. There are no easy matches, and the opponent understands the importance of winning to maintain their chances of qualifying, but they always focus on their team’s performance and strive to win every match.”
Al Ahly leads Group B of the CAF Champions League with 8 points, from two wins and two draws, while the Algeria club sit bottom with a paltry two points after four matches into the competition.
