CAF Champions League: We are focused on overturning the scoreline in Rabat – AS FAR midfielder Abdelfettah Hadraf
AS FAR midfielder Abdelfettah Hadraf has expressed confidence that the Moroccan side can overturn their first-leg deficit against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.
The Moroccan giants lost 1-0 in the opening leg last Sunday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, leaving them with work to do ahead of the return fixture in Rabat.
Speaking ahead of the decisive encounter, Hadraf insisted the team remains united and fully focused on completing the turnaround against Miguel Cardoso’s side, who carry a slender advantage into the second leg.
He stressed that AS FAR will approach the match with determination in front of their home supporters, underlining belief within the camp.
“The final is won, not played, and we are fully focused, whether it is the players, the technical staff, or even the fans,” Hadraf said, as quoted by Hiba Sport.
Sundowns, who lifted the continental title in 2016 and narrowly missed out again last season after a defeat to Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the final, will be aiming to protect their lead and progress.
AS FAR, African champions in 1985 as the first Moroccan club to win the continent’s premier club competition, will look to draw inspiration from their history as they host the South African side at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Sunday, with kick-off set for 21:00.
