Injury Blow for Ismail El Haddad Ahead of Key Wydad Fixtures
Wydad Casablanca have suffered a major setback ahead of crucial matches, as winger Ismail El Haddad has been ruled out for four weeks. The Moroccan international sustained a knee injury on Saturday during the CAF Champions League clash against Horoya AC.
The 28-year-old’s absence will be felt keenly, as he will miss both the Casablanca derby against Raja and the CAF Champions League semi-final against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
El Haddad has been a key player for Wydad this season. Notably, he scored the decisive goal in the first leg of the Moroccan derby against Raja Casablanca on January 6 at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, securing a vital 1-0 victory for his team.
Wydad will now have to adapt their attacking plans in his absence as they prepare for these high-stakes fixtures.
