USM Alger Maintains Perfect Record with Win Over MC El Eulma in CAF Champions League
USM Alger continued their impressive form in the CAF Champions League group stage with a 2-1 victory over MC El Eulma on Friday, extending their flawless run to 9 points from three matches in Group B.
The Red and Blacks made a blistering start to the match, dominating the first 30 minutes. Youcef Belaïli was the star of the show, scoring twice—first providing an assist to Kadour Beldjilali in the 16th minute, then adding a goal himself in the 23rd to give USM Alger a commanding lead. Their early dominance had them in control, and although they lost a bit of sharpness as the match went on, the advantage was enough to see them through.
However, MC El Eulma pulled one back just before halftime with a header from Korichi in the 40th minute, which gave the visitors some hope. Despite a few late threats, including a powerful shot from Meftah that hit the post in the 80th minute, USM Alger held on to claim all three points.
The victory keeps them at the top of Group B, with a perfect record so far. Meanwhile, El Eulma, still without a point, finds itself on the brink of elimination as they have yet to register a goal in the competition. USM Alger will now wait for the result of the ES Sétif vs. El Merreikh match on Saturday, hoping to maintain their lead in the group.
