This weekend saw some notable upsets in the first leg of the African Champions League round of 16. TP Mazembe was one of the top names that faced defeat, losing 1-2 to Séwé Sport San Pedro in Abidjan.
Séwé’s goals came from Roger Claver Assalé and Koffi Kouame, the latter from a penalty kick. However, TP Mazembe managed to secure an away goal through Tanzanian player Mbwana Samatta.
The return leg is scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
