CAF Champions League: Remo Stars see off US Zilimadjou with a dominate 4-0 win

Nigerian outfit Remo Stars put up a top performance on Sunday, securing a huge 4-0 victory over Comoros side US Zilimadjou 4-0 in the CAF Champions League.

The two teams locked horns today in the first leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie.

On the matchday, Remo Stars, playing as the host, led by two goals in the first half thanks to goals from Chigozie Chilekwu and Leonard Ngenge.

After recess, the Nigerians continued to dominate, scoring two more goals through Adam Goita and Samson Olasupo to complete the demolishing exercise of US Zilimadjou.

In some of the other games, Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis thumped ASFAN 3-0 in Niger on Sunday, in the first leg of their tie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round tie.

The visitors needed just eight minutes to break the deadlock, as Algerian forward Kouceila Boualia opened the scoring.

After the break, Mali international Aboubacar Diakite took centre stage, striking twice to complete a brace and hand Esperance three crucial away goals ahead of the return leg in Tunis.

In another match, Moroccan champions RS Berkane were held to a 1-1 draw by ASC Kara in Togo.

The hosts stunned the Confederation Cup holders by taking the lead in the 47th minute through Amoudane Oura-Ayeva.

However, Berkane salvaged a result when Oussama Lamlioui netted the equaliser with just 13 minutes remaining.
