CAF Champions League: Referees announced for Espérance de Tunis vs. Mamelodi Sundowns quarter-final clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the match officials for the second-leg quarter-final encounter between Espérance Sportive de Tunis and Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.

The crucial fixture is set to take place on Tuesday, April 8, at the Hamadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 local time.

Espérance will be looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit following their narrow defeat in the first leg against the South African side.

Match officials

Senegalese referee Issa Sy has been appointed to officiate the contest, with his compatriots Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura serving as assistant referees.

Adalbert Diouf, also from Senegal, will act as the fourth official.

The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team will feature Peter Waweru Kamaku from Kenya, alongside Salima Rhadia Mukansanga from Rwanda.

High stakes for Espérance

With Mamelodi Sundowns holding a one-goal advantage from the first leg, Espérance faces a challenging task in front of their home crowd.

The Tunisian giants will need a strong performance to overturn the deficit and secure a place in the semi-finals of Africa’s premier club competition.

The highly anticipated encounter is expected to be fiercely contested, with both teams aiming to continue their journey toward continental glory.
