In a dramatic turn of events, Horoya secured their qualification for the round of 16 of the African Champions League by defeating Raja Casablanca in a penalty shootout, with a final score of 5-4. However, the Moroccan club has lodged a complaint with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against Horoya, alleging fraudulent use of a player.
According to Raja Casablanca officials, the Guinean player Mohamed Camara Yali Yali should not have been included on Horoya’s match sheet, as his loan with the club had allegedly expired in June 2013. These accusations have sparked outrage among Rajaoui supporters.
However, Guinean authorities have refuted these claims, asserting that Yali Yali’s inclusion was legitimate. They await a response from CAF, which was initially expected on Tuesday but has been postponed to a later date.
Despite the controversy, Raja Casablanca, now under the guidance of coach Faouzi Benzarti, remains hopeful and determined to pursue their Champions League aspirations.
