Pyramids FC coach, Krunoslav Jurcic, commended his players for their impressive performance against Orlando Pirates.
The Egyptian side held the South African side to a goalless scoreline in the first leg of the CAF Champions League at the FNB Stadium after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) cancelled out their goals on the night
Despite the scoreline, Jurcic was happy with his side’s performance.
“I can say that I’m very proud, we played an excellent match, we scored to two goals. For me I won the match today 2-0. I like Africa, but not in this way,” the Pyramids coach told SABC Sport after the game.
“It’s too early to speak about the match in Egypt. We will play our way, as I said before the match.
“I will repeat, I’m very proud of how my players played today, how many chances we made. But I’m a little bit frustrated, it’s very difficult to speak now.”
“Football is like this. For me as a coach, it’s important that my team creates the chances. Sometimes you score, sometimes you don’t score, but generally I’m very satisfied.”
Pyramids will hope to secure a place in the final when they host Pirates at the 30 June Stadium in the return on Friday, April 25.
