Egyptian side Pyramids FC are gearing up for a challenging away fixture against Renaissance Berkane, with the two teams set to meet next Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane in the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
The encounter is expected to be a crucial one, with both clubs enjoying a strong start to the competition.
Ahead of the high-profile clash, the Pyramids FC management took time to celebrate Moroccan international Mohamed Chibi, marking his birthday in camp.
The gesture underlined the club’s appreciation of the defender, who will be facing compatriots when the Egyptian side take on RS Berkane on Moroccan soil.
Pyramids FC arrived in Morocco earlier in the week and held their first training session on Thursday evening as preparations intensified for the continental showdown.
The session marked the start of the team’s final build-up ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested match.
Both RS Berkane and Pyramids FC currently sit at the top of Group A in the CAF Champions League, each with six points after recording two victories in their opening two matches.
With the group leaders going head-to-head, Saturday’s fixture is set to play a key role in shaping the race for qualification.
