Members of Pyramids FC’s Advisory Board attended the first team’s training session ahead of Sunday’s African Champions League clash against Rivers United in Nigeria.
The Egyptian side will travel to Uyo to face Rivers United at 6 p.m. at Godswell Akapio Stadium in the fifth round of the group stage.
Advisory Board members Counsellor Ahmed Saad, Counsellor Mahmoud Farag, and Dr. Mahmoud Hussein joined club president Engineer Mamdouh Eid at the session to show support for the players and coaching staff ahead of the crucial fixture.
Speaking during the visit, Ahmed Saad expressed full confidence in the squad and technical team, highlighting their achievements from last season and insisting the team is well-equipped to succeed this season.
“The league competition is still open,” he said.
“Pyramids can claim the domestic title in addition to continuing their continental success. Recent setbacks are minor stumbles that the team will quickly overcome.”
Mahmoud Farag echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the team’s established presence in African football.
“Pyramids has consistently performed at the highest level, winning continental trophies and showing it can challenge for the league this season. The club provides every resource necessary for success, and I am confident the team will continue to improve.”
He also noted the team’s strong Champions League performance, topping their group and advancing to the quarter-finals, setting the stage for a strong domestic campaign.
Dr. Mahmoud Hussein acknowledged the challenges posed by a congested schedule and travel, which have affected league results.
“It is normal for points to be dropped under these circumstances, but Pyramids has proven itself from day one. We have full confidence in the players and coaching staff to recover, compete locally and continentally, and secure the season’s titles.”
