Pyramids coach Krunoslav Jurcic has set sights on securing victory in their group stage opener against Sagrada Esperanca in the CAF Champions League.
The Egyptian outfit will play host to the Angolan club at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo on Tuesday evening.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the Croatian coach says he is looking to flying a start against their opponent on home turf.
“We are in good shape after the last two victories in the league, and it is necessary to invest this atmosphere in the Champions League, and advance a step in the tournament, especially since we will play the next two rounds outside the country.
“Sagrada relies on long balls behind Pyramids’ defense, so we must be very careful in dealing with them.”
He pointed out that he watched many of Sagrada’s matches and knows very well how good their players are, in addition to the fact that Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele provided the technical staff with some important information, as Sagrada includes some Congolese players.
Meanwhile, five key players of Pyramids have been ruled out, sparking a lot of concerns for manager Jose Gomez.
Pyramids is missing the services of Ahmed Sami, Burkinabe Blati Toure, Osama Galal, and Mahmoud Abdel-Ati “Dunga”, due to injuries.
Nigerian international Sadiq Igola will not be available for the clash since he was registered for the Africa campaign.
