CAF Champions League: MC El Eulma Ready to Take on the Challenge Against Sétif
MC El Eulma is fully focused and determined as they prepare to face ES Sétif this Saturday in the second group stage match (Group B) of the CAF Champions League. After a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Sudan’s El-Merreikh in the opening match, MCEE is looking to bounce back and secure their first points in the competition.
Facing another Algerian side in Aigle Noir de Sétif, who also lost their opener (2-1 to USM Alger), the match promises to be intense as both clubs are desperate for a win to keep their hopes of qualification alive.
“The physical deficit that made us suffer in Omdurman against El-Merreikh has been addressed. We focused our preparation on this aspect to be fully ready to attack against Sétif,” said Cherif Hadjar, head coach of MC El Eulma, in comments to APS.
Hadjar remains confident despite the challenge posed by Sétif’s continental experience:
“We are ready to take up the challenge against a team that is certainly more seasoned, but also capable of being vulnerable when it plays away from home.”
With Group B still wide open, Hadjar emphasized that all four teams still have a realistic chance of qualification:
“Whatever happens, at this stage of the competition, every team still has a chance. We will surpass ourselves in front of our supporters because we are on the threshold of a historic qualification for the semi-finals.”
The derby-like encounter between two Algerian sides under pressure promises to be a decisive moment in Group B.
