CAF Champions League: MC Alger seal first-round progress with 5-0 win

MC Alger produced the biggest victory of the day in the CAF Champions League on Saturday, 12 September 2026, beating ASN Nigelec 5-0 to confirm their qualification for the next round.

The Algerian side had drawn 0-0 in the first leg but dominated the return match to complete a convincing victory over their opponents.

TP Mazembe also secured a home win, defeating Medeama 3-1. Orlando Pirates recorded the same score against La Cure Waves, while Al Hilal Omdurman edged past Aigle Noir 1-0.

African Stars advanced their position with a 2-0 victory over Mangasport, and Young Africans beat Gaborone United by the same scoreline.

Al Merreikh claimed a narrow 1-0 away win against Power Dynamos. Heegan suffered a heavier defeat, losing 3-0 to El Merriekh Bentiu.

The day’s remaining matches produced two goalless draws. Nsingizini Hotspurs were held 0-0 by Scotland Mabvuku, while Rahimo FC and MAS de Fes also finished without a goal.

The result against MAS de Fes confirmed Rahimo FC’s elimination, after the Burkina Faso club had lost the first leg 4-1.
