The opening qualifying round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League has produced its main winners, with MC Alger, Pyramids FC and Simba SC among the clubs advancing to the second preliminary round.
MC Alger delivered the biggest result of the round, beating ASN Nigelec 5-0 after the sides had drawn 0-0 in the first leg. Pyramids FC also secured a convincing aggregate victory by defeating Gor Mahia 5-1 in the return fixture, while Simba SC defeated Mighty Wanderers 6-1.
Several ties were decided by penalties, including Stade Malien’s meeting with Colombe Sportive. After a 0-0 draw, Colombe Sportive won the shootout 4-3.
