Mamelodi Sundowns must overcome Wiliete SC at home on Friday, 23 October to keep their CAF Champions League title defence on track.

The reigning champions welcome the Angolan side to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria for the second leg of their 2026-2027 second qualifying round tie, after a goalless draw in Angola.

Sundowns created several opportunities in the first meeting but could not find a way past the Wiliete goalkeeper. Miguel Cardoso’s side will now need to turn their territorial advantage into goals in front of their home supporters.

Wiliete will travel to South Africa believing they can produce an upset. The Angolan club progressed past Foresters FC of Seychelles in the first round and demonstrated in the opening leg that they can frustrate a more experienced opponent.

The task for the Brazilians is straightforward: win in Pretoria and secure their place in the group stage. Another 0-0 draw would send the tie to a penalty shootout, while any score draw would put Wiliete in the stronger position.

That means the visitors must balance their defensive discipline with the need to attack if they are to extend their continental campaign. Mamelodi Sundowns, meanwhile, will be expected to take the initiative as they seek to avoid an early setback in their bid to retain the trophy.

Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 GMT, or 20:00 in South Africa.
