CAF Champions League / Kalaba: “Go to Sétif to Win”

TP Mazembe and Rainford Kalaba Target Victory in Champions League Semi-Final

This Saturday, September 20, Zambian midfielder Rainford Kalaba and his team TP Mazembe will face off against Entente Sportif in the first semi-final of the CAF Champions League at the Stade du 8-Mai 1945 in Sétif, Algeria.

Mazembe, known as the Ravens, arrive in Algeria with a clear mission: to secure a positive result and advance to the final. Kalaba, the experienced playmaker, is resolute about his team’s ambitions.

“In my head, I only think of one thing: going to Sétif to win,” Kalaba told the club’s official website, tpmazembe.com. “The semi-final matches have another dimension because they open the doors to the final. You have to be there.”

TP Mazembe’s rich history in African club football bolsters their confidence. The Congolese side are four-time winners of the CAF Champions League, lifting the trophy in 1967, 1968, 2009, and 2010. Their pedigree and experience position them as strong contenders to claim the title once again.

In preparation for this critical stage, the Ravens held their training camp in Accra, Ghana. Their final training session before the match took place Wednesday evening at the Lizzy Sports Complex, as the team fine-tuned tactics and focused on their opponents.

Kalaba, a key figure in Mazembe’s midfield, will be central to the team’s strategy. Known for his vision, creativity, and leadership on the pitch, the Zambian international aims to inspire his teammates and help secure a place in the final.

The stakes could not be higher. The Champions League semi-finals represent the gateway to continental glory, and every player understands the significance of this encounter. TP Mazembe’s determination to add another Champions League trophy to their cabinet is clear, with Kalaba embodying the team’s fighting spirit.

Fans and football enthusiasts will be watching keenly as Mazembe take on Entente Sportif in a match that promises intensity, skill, and high drama. For Kalaba and his teammates, this is not just another game — it is an opportunity to make history and continue their legacy as one of Africa’s most successful clubs.
