Horoya AC Confident Ahead of CAF Champions League Return Leg Against AS Douanes
Horoya AC of Conakry will host AS Douanes of Dakar this Sunday in the return leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round, following a goalless draw in the first leg in Dakar. With the advantage of a clean sheet, Horoya AC is confident of securing qualification to the group stage.
Khadim Ndiaye, the Guinean club’s goalkeeper and Senegalese international, expressed his belief that Horoya is well-positioned for success: “When it comes to telling the truth, you have to do it. AS Douanes is unlucky enough to come up against us. Our goal is to reach the group stage. So, any team that is ahead of us has a good chance of being eliminated.”
Ndiaye further praised the development of Guinean football, which has seen increased professionalization this year: “Guinean football is starting to progress. Moreover, it has been professionalized this year. The leaders are ready to put in the effort to achieve their goals. Guinea’s 4th place at the CHAN is already a good indication. The best is yet to come.”
With the home advantage and the confidence of their goalkeeper, Horoya AC will be hoping to secure their spot in the group stages and continue their push in Africa’s premier club competition.
