Former Zamalek SC and Al Ahly coach, Nelo Vingada, has backed Pyramids FC ahead of their CAF Champions League clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The two sides will battle for glory with the first leg of the clash slated for Saturday, May 24, at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, with the 30 June Stadium in Cairo scheduled to host the second leg on June 1.
Sundowns stunned defending champions, Al Ahly, in the semi-finals to set the historic final with Pyramids.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian side brushed aside South African giants Orlando Pirates to qualify for their first-ever final in this competition.
“The Champions League is the biggest club competition on the continent, and the two teams that qualify for the final have an equal chance of 50/50,” Vingada said, according to Kooora.
“I hope Pyramids wins because they represent Egypt, and I wish them success in this great challenge.”
Sundowns will be seeking their second title, while Pyramids will be aiming to win their first trophy in the competition.
