CAF Champions League: Dates announced for AS FAR vs RS Berkane semi-final tie

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the schedule for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, setting the stage for an all-Moroccan clash in the Champions League.

Moroccan football is represented by RS Berkane and AS FAR, who were drawn against each other in the semi-finals, guaranteeing a thrilling national showdown.

Meanwhile, Olympique Safi will face Algeria’s USM Alger in the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup.

CAF confirmed that the first leg between AS FAR and RS Berkane will take place in Rabat on Saturday, April 11, kicking off at 7:00 PM local time. The return leg is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, also starting at 7:00 PM.

RS Berkane earned their semi-final spot after a narrow 1-0 victory over Al-Hilal in the quarter-finals, staged at the Amahoro Stadium. AS FAR, on the other hand, advanced past the defending champions, Egypt’s Pyramids FC, with a 2-1 win in the second leg.

The Moroccan clash promises high drama as both sides vie for a place in the Champions League final, highlighting the continued strength and competitiveness of Moroccan football on the continental stage.

The winner of the blockbuster tie could go on to lift the enviable title at the end of the season.
